The library became the most feared place in the entire school. The strict ban on bringing food and making noise led to frequent punishments, to the point where an entire area of the library was reserved for students in corner-time. To ensure that the disciplinary actions did not disturb those who were studying, a silencing charm was cast on the area. This allowed the head of the library to punish students without causing disruptions.
